The free scan is the action on this page. This free scan is the feed-error report. Upload a product CSV. The scan reads the first 100 variant rows, or every row when the file is shorter. A file with more than 2,000 variant rows is refused. The file you upload is left unchanged.
The five checks are price mismatch, missing GTIN or identifier, wrong or missing Google product category, image problem, missing shipping or attributes. They score a Shopify product CSV. The same pass also counts multi-supplier duplicate groups and inconsistent attributes. Those counts are not extra approvals. A Merchant-style file with shipping columns is not scored with those five checks.
A Merchant-style CSV that includes a shipping price, shipping currency, or shipping country column is classified for shipping currency on this free scan. Accepted column names are shipping(price), shipping(currency), and shipping(country), plus the same names written with a space or an underscore. A row is shipping_currency_mismatch when the product price currency and the shipping currency are both known and differ. A shipping price with no currency is shipping_price_currency_missing. Empty shipping price and currency, when those columns exist, is missing_shipping_fields. The result is counts and a few row examples. Shopify product CSVs keep the five checks above. The file is left unchanged. This is not a Merchant Center approval.
Account-level Google Merchant Center shipping services often use a currency that is not in the product CSV. This scan cannot prove or disprove that account setting. A CSV with no shipping-currency mismatch does not mean Merchant Center is clear.
The scan does not call the Merchant Center API. It is not a Merchant Center approval and it is not a guaranteed Merchant Center approval. Do not include confidential or personal data in the file, and do not publish confidential or personal data. This scan does not remove confidential or personal data from the file.

Merchant Center Diagnostics reviews the feed in a Merchant Center account. On a Shopify product CSV, this report runs the five machine checks above. On a Merchant-style CSV with shipping columns, the free scan classifies shipping currency instead of those five checks. It does not replace Diagnostics. It does not read account-level Merchant Center shipping services.
On 2026-11-06 one constructed Shopify CSV was scored. It had one clean row and one row for each of the five checks. A mark is a true positive when the scan and the seed both include that class on that row, a false positive when only the scan includes it, and a false negative when only the seed includes it. Precision is true positives divided by true positives plus false positives. Recall is true positives divided by true positives plus false negatives. On that file, precision was 1 and recall was 1 (5 true positives, 0 false positives, 0 false negatives). That is one constructed file. It is not a sample of live catalogs and not a promise about the next file.
